Baby Moon

We decided to take a family trip to a water park in French Lick with Olivia before baby time.  Jeremy got off work early and we drove down to French Lick and arrived right around dinner time.  We ate some dinner and headed back to the hotel to suit up and go swimming.  Olivia had a really fun time playing, but was worn out after about  an hour.
We went back to the hotel room and had a much needed snack.  This is the first time Olivia remembers staying in a hotel and she had a queen bed to herself.  It took her nearly an hour to stop sitting up in bed and whispering things to me, but she finally stopped talked around 9:30pm.

We woke up the next morning and had the complimentary hotel breakfast (mostly fried food) before we checked out, suited up, and headed back to the water park.

 

Overall, Olivia had a really fun time doing everything from the splash park, kids water slides, lazy river, and kiddie pool!  She has been asking when she gets to go back to the water park.  Maybe we will have to go back again when the baby is walking around.

Crayon Craft Night

Since the baby is coming so soon, I really want to make sure Olivia remembers what fun we have as a family.  So, I pulled out all the broken crayons and decided to craft some new creations with her.  

We started out shaving the broken crayons for stained glass bookmarks.

Jeremy decided he had a much faster way of doing this....Always the engineer :)

Jeremy ironed the first one a bit too much and the second a little less than needed, but they all worked out.

We cut some shapes like hearts for Valentine's day and some bookmarks.  With the rest of the crayon
bits I melted them in a mini-muffin tin for some multi-colored crayons.

 We also had another good 5-6 inches of snow, so I let Olivia outside while Jeremy shoveled the drive.  She enjoyed "helping" Daddy shovel with her garden shovel.







She had to have her customary cup of hot cocoa when she came in to defrost!

Finally pulled out the sewing machine again.

   The crafting urge was really getting to me this weekend, so I decided to make a much needed baby item.  I found a tutorial for a car seat cover from "Make it Do" blog and decided to make one for the little boy coming in about 9 weeks.
   Unfortunately my pregnant brain made this simple sewing project a much more difficult process than necessary.  After much time spent with my seam ripper and many "duh" moments I was able to finish with quite a nice cover.
Here is the fabric we finally decided on.  It says "sweet pea" on the leaf fabric.

The finished product....It works really well on the car seat and should keep the baby boy safe from wind this spring when he comes!!!!

While I was sewing Olivia was playing Picasso on the chalkboard in the loft.  It is really fun to see her make pictures that are somewhat recognizable.  The picture she drew is a snowman with a slinky next to it.

Jeremy's Projects

Since it is still snowy outside, I haven't felt like getting out and going to Jo-Ann's.   I found a sewing project for the baby that I would like to work on, but I need to pick up fabric first.

Jeremy on the other hand finished his 2 big projects and got them moved into the bedroom.
He made 2 night-stands for the bedroom, and over a long Christmas break made a 6 drawer dresser for me!

First post...Looking forward to the new year!

I have decided to start a blog for a couple reasons....
First- I have a terrible memory and I know how much I will want to remember these days.
Second- so my friends and family can see what we are up to no matter where we are located.

So..... Here it goes!

It is snowing and snowing and I don't particularly mind because I don't have any real need to get out of the house.  For some reason we don't have a sled, so Jeremy found something else to help Olivia play outside with.

 Here is Olivia with her first cup of hot cocoa! She loves chocolate in any form, so I new this would get her in from the cold.
